Picky Ricky Queso
This queso is smooth and creamy, perfect for your gameday party!
Ingredients
8 ounces monterrey jack cheese, grated, this is about 2 cups
4 ounces mild cheddar cheese, grated, this is about 1 cup
1 cup half and half
3 Tablespoons Picky Ricky hot sauce (or more to taste)
1 jalapeno, diced, seeds remove
1 teaspoon onion powder
2 cloves garlic, minced
Dried oregano
Optional garnishes
¼ cup diced green onion
1 avocado, sliced
Instructions
Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium-low heat. Add the shredded cheeses and the half and half. Stir continuously until the cheese has mostly melted. Turn the heat down to low and stir constantly until the cheese is fully melted. Be patient! It will take about 10 minutes for the cheese to fully melt, and you don’t want the half and half to separate.
Once the cheese has melted and reached a smooth consistency, add the hot sauce, diced jalapeno, onion powder, and minced garlic. Stir thoroughly to combine. Taste, add more hot sauce if desired.
Transfer to a large serving bowl, sprinkle the top with dried oregano and optional garnishes.
Serve with tortilla chips or toasted pita bread.
